Well, here goes. I can honestly say I'm one of the happiest people I know. Well, almost. I wouldn't be writing this if that were entirely true, right? What I mean to say is that I'm often surprised by how unhappy others manage to be. That wasn't always true but I've spent the last several years traveling the world and I've learned a lot. I've been to 44 countries and lived on four continents. I've always traveled independently and on my own and wouldn't have it any other way. I believe in the value of adventure and the importance of exploration. Learning has always been one of my highest priorities. I believe life is for living and we must take every opportunity to live as much as we possibly can. I haven't started law school yet, but that's okay because I still have plenty of time (I'm 25) and I really enjoy my job. I teach English as a second language at a local community college and find the work surprisingly fulfilling. The overwhelming majority of my students are from the Middle East and I really enjoy learning about their lives and culture. In all my travels I always felt the two most important ways to improve the world were to empower women, and to encourage cultural exchange. My job gives me an incredible opportunity to do both on a daily basis and I'm very grateful to work there. I've been a runner all my life and I enjoy and appreciate an active lifestyle. That's not to say I don't enjoy a lazy weekend as much as anyone (I do), but I don't smoke cigarettes and I try to get as much exercise as I can. I'm looking for someone who feels at least close to the same. More importantly though, I'm hoping to find someone who takes her intellect seriously. I don't mean some kind of academic snob - far from it - I just mean I would appreciate someone capable of and interested in having real discussions and who is adept at rational thinking.
