His 9 interests
in his own words...
The world does not owe me a living. I've lived life without a net for so long that to me, taking a risk is a no-brainer. I'm not the guy who waits for someone else to make a decision. I can lay back when necessary, but forge ahead when it's obvious someone needs to take charge. I am absolutely certain I will not be on my deathbed asking, "What if?" I've already cheated the hangman more than a cat with nine lives. "Losing hurts more than winning feels good." I've lost, oh yes, I've lost. And because of that, I do not take winning for granted. Give me someone who has taken a hit, who knows what it's like to take a chance and have your rear kicked, then wake up in the morning knowing that even though you just watched a pile of cash (or a piece of your heart) burn up in the driveway, you didn't freak out. Because you knew the sun would rise and today's a new day. A priceless new day. I'm independent and own my own business. Because of my work, I've set foot in all 50 states and a few countries. But I enjoy having a partner who is also an independent spirit, whose ideas challenge me. I don't need to hang out with my significant other 24 hours a day and obsess about her when we're not together. I like the feeling of separation making the eventual integration even more intense and enlightening. In the 80s, they used to say this was giving a person "their space." We found a phone booth in the middle of Ohio and called each other, desperately hoping the connection would be made, not knowing if the phone that rang in my own hotel room was her calling me back. Because we didn't have Caller ID either! Yes, I'm a romantic. And yes, children are OK with me, I get along with kids of all ages, including my own (age, that is!) I will spend more time and effort planning a night out on the town with someone I'm smitten with than I will checking my fantasy baseball team's stats (a
