in his own words...
Nerd: just moved to Phoenix to do a PhD, spent hours every day reading even before I began this ordeal. All about arts and humanities but not lost in the thickets of theory. Crunchy-granola: I do lots of yoga every day (more the meditative than the stretchy kind), am relentlessly positive, relentlessly energetic, mostly pescatarian and do not really shop. Horrified by Republicans... Working out: I go to the gym or run or play sports most days, but I'm skinny, not pneumatic; have played competitive sports forever and looking to get back into it (did I mention about being relentlessly energetic?). A news junkie, happy to chew on world events all day. Not really into shopping or consuming or what passes for fashion, but I will keep your mind stimulated and make you laugh. I'm looking for a partner whom I can talk to about the artsy, nerdy things I like, someone who can deconstruct films, paintings and books and still boogie to old funky music. Someone who loves to travel to places far, far off the beaten path but is also at home in the city. Skeptical but not negative, full of passion but not drama... Grammar nerds welcome! My cultural favorites include lots of classics, but I am not some tight cultural elitist, terribly serious about the canon - I've always been enthralled by the arts, and I just had the good fortune to live for years in a European capital where I could go one or two nights a week to the art-house cinema run by the national film archive. I have a projector, and I have uncounted gigabytes of great films; if you l
