in her own words...

I am a sister, friend, daughter, aunt, traveller, beach chic, movie-goer, music lover, wine taster, mentee, mentor, athlete, self-proclaimed freeze-tag champion, laugher, foreign language enthusiast, (loud) shower singer in the morning, 6-8 dish repertoire cook, believer, lover, dreamer... and yes, I'm a doctor. Not a nurse (love nurses!), not the social worker (couldn't do my job without them!) but I really am a doctor... I promise! I say this to clarify, as my patients' doubt (daily), that I in fact, am the one responsible for their care. But I didn't penetrate this good-old-boys-only club of medicine just for kicks and giggles; I did it because I truly love to serve. I am blessed everyday to wake up in the morning and passionately love what I do! My sisters are my best friends and we laugh hysterically when we're all together. My friends would say that I'm passionate, loyal, adventurous, caring and driven. I like making people smile and I love trying new things & exploring new places. When I graduated from undergrad, I thought I might be interested in medicine, but I really wasn't sure. So I decided to take a year off and travel to Senegal, West Africa where I explored traditional medicine values and experienced first hand how the country coped with a rising HIVAIDS epidemic. Taking that time off taught me a lot about myself, the things that are most important to me in life, and definitively set me on a career path toward medicine. I am grateful that God continues to bless me with the knowledge and gifts that have helped me to serve others. In a partner, I look for someone who is equally passionate about using his gifts to serve the world... whatever those gifts might be. I'm attracted to a man who is driven and hungry for life, but can also step back to cherish and enjoy the everyday moments along the journey. The man who can stimulate my mind with good intellectual conversation, and still laugh hysterically with me about silly stuff, is a man aft
