in her own words...

I'm at a loss for what else to add here, so I'm going to look to the questions on the right for some inspiration. I guess I can start with what I'm looking for in a match. I want someone who is kind and compassionate. Besides that, the usual stuff: someone who I can laugh with to complement my more serious side (I have been known to make "that's what she said" jokes but I also appreciate more mature humor); someone who likes exploring new places or doing new things in old places; someone who will drag me outdoors since I work from home and it is hard to leave my apartment; someone to discuss books, movies, good TV shows with and who gets how attached I become to characters. I am good at approaching and connecting with people. Organizing in all its forms (for social justice, activities for fun, to get things done, in general getting people together). I'm trying to make up for a boring few years in grad school. I want to get outside more often, and I also want to start doing activism work in my free time again. I am most grateful for my niece, who is absolutely wonderful and so loving, and my new nephew. The Colbert Report and other witty, smart political/philosophical humor makes me laugh out loud (because it keeps me from crying at the state of our world). I have not answered a lot of questions, not because I don’t want to, but because there wasn't an option that was satisfactory. For instance, I don't smoke. However, I have been known to take a puff or two every few months while drinking. That isn't a "No way" but also is less than "Occasionally". Yes, that is how anal I get about answering survey questions. I guess that's why I chose research and evaluation as my career.

Take the personality test everyone is talking about.
