He is a tough-minded, independent thinker who likes to explore ideas or problems thoroughly. Yet he has a wild side and is not interested in maintaining routine social engagements either.
He gravitates to men and women who are intellectually exciting and like to discuss topics broadly and thoroughly.
He tends to like someone who is spontaneous, even mischievous, as well as a mate who can appreciate his rugged individualism and support of his drive to succeed.
A few excerpts from his personality test:
- I have no trouble making a choice, even when several alternatives seem equally good at first
- I am very empathetic
- When making a decision, I like to stick to the facts rather than be swayed by people's feelings

in his own words...
I'm a midwesterner (North Dakota) who for the past ten years has been wandering from one educational opportunity out east to another and just landed in DC to start a job for a legal non-profit. Culturally, I'm a bit of a chameleon. I'm as comfortable in a back-country billiard parlor as I am amongst a group of Ivy League law school grads. Although I can hide it well, deep down I'm an introvert; I love to go to movies by myself and read in coffee shops with bottomless cups of coffee and baristas with enigmatic tattoos. I am a strange mix between an idealist and a cynical misanthrope. I work on social justice issues, try hard to avoid animal products for ethical reasons (although I do own a pair of amazing cowboy boots), and am socially very progressive (want to marry a cow? fine with me). At the same time, I have little hope that reason will prevail in the end. I am easily caught up in my passions, which range from my work (public interest law) to big cats (I spent a year of my life trying to prove that there are mountain lions in Massachusetts). When I'm in the right mood, I'll happily go out to the bars, or even dancing (though I'm terrible). But my "scene" is probably a quieter one, or at least a stranger one. Interested in rollerblading on the mall late at night? Because that sounds amazing to me. I'm looking for someone genuine, self-possessed, intelligent, and passionate who will constantly surprise me (and who feels strongly about use of the serial comma).
