The clever, queer wordsmith Wilde got it right--I have the simplest tastes; I am always satisfied with the best.

He has a broad overview of reality and likes to tackle large, complex issues and weigh all the variables involved.

He seeks an authentic connection with just about everyone you meet, and you want to have in-depth discussions with friends and colleagues about ideas and feelings.

He likes those who can focus on their goals – individuals who complement his restless soul-searching.

A few excerpts from his personality test:

  • I am willing to take risks to do what I want to do
  • I pursue intellectual topics thoroughly and regularly
  • I am always doing new things

in his own words...

I am from and of the South & still love it--with its obvious and obscured imperfections, glorious gems, & rich culture. Thankfully, my parents raised me right. I attended cotillion (which is not the same thing as a debutante ball), and my parents taught me the importance of sending notes of thanks & gratitude for a gift or kindness. (I continue to write thank-you notes in longhand with my fountain pen on my monogrammed stationary.) The lack of proper home training in this country is a disheartening epidemic. Etiquette is not an archaic Victorian relic for the moneyed, but a tool every person should use to make others, such as guests in your home or colleagues in your office, feel comfortable & at ease. To return to a previous example, a note of thanks for a gift or thoughtful deed is the right thing to do because everyone should acknowledge a kindness. To do otherwise is selfish. I am very much a Libra (with a strong Virgo streak). A dear friend and colleague, whose opinion I greatly value, says that I do not suffer fools gladly. She is spot on. **QUI ME AMAT AMET ET CANEM MEUM** I am an attorney by training & license, and "returned" to Washington, DC, (a maternal familial home) out of a devotion to social justice & a commitment to public service and becasue of the importance of law, policy, and politics in achieving a world improved for all people--espcially queers and now for my niece, too. (Number One Lesson: Federalism.) I overestimated the import of the federal government & underestimated the significance of the states & localities. Like most of my colleagues, what I do is far too much who I am. (As a Libyan I do strive for balance, yet . . . ) For what am I looking? True love. To share my life with a wonderful man & to share in his life.

Take the personality test everyone is talking about.
