in his own words...
I am fairly described as a wild-haired, wide-eyed problem solving pragmatist. But if you met me at work, you would only know half of me. That's one of the funny things about what I do - your personality doesn't usually charm the people you are suing. I grew up in the redwoods of Northern California, in a small coastal town where all the sons are Eagle Scouts and the most traffic you'll see is on Sunday after church gets out. When I went off to college at UCLA I thought I would come back to Eureka or to a similar sweet little town. I still have this fantasy of making a home in a little town, but I have been living in downtown DC for 5 years now and I couldn't imagine leaving the action - it's too addictive. I feel like I have really grown up since I moved out here, and, in reality, I have. I have exposed myself to amazing experiences - like standing on a balcony overlooking the inauguration, or eating foods I had never had before but can't live without - like Spanish tapas or good Indian food. I have also grown up working here, from clerking for a judge and trying to convince him my view of a case was the right way, to walking into the Alexandria courthouse and saying "I represent the United States of America." Working at the Justice Department has been my dream since I decided to go to law school, and I am so lucky to have a job that I love doing, and that I am (finally) starting to get good at, even though it takes a lot of work. I am a pretty determined individual. Here, I am determined to meet someone youthful and energetic, someone with simple pleasures, a kind disposition, and a sympathetic ear, and can drive stick. I have enough debate in my professional life, so I am looking for a person that is comfortable talking about things other than work, and that can share my addiction to travel. If I can get away from work and afford a plane ticket, you'd better believe I will be on that plane, window seat
