in his own words...
Geeze... After so much time in law enforcement, you can say I'm careful. Not paranoid mind you, just aware of some things others might miss. If you talk to me, I will listen; and your honesty and intergrity are very important. I'm a dad. I've raised four great guys and it was the best job I ever had. Three of my lads currently are in the military, the fourth is on his way. Family is everything and since I'm the son of Irish immigrants, that includes those across the pond. Sometimes I take life too seriously but I think that's because it is so precious, passes so quickly and can never be rewritten. Not one word. Laughter is not only the best medicine, but if I remember my Heinlien, its a truly human expression. I'm a big teaser, and I love being teased as well. I guess that would make you "sassy" but there is so much trust involved, that once you are there, you know you are accepted for who you are. Conflicts need to be resolved, but not necessarily at this second. I think a lot about what I say and how its recieved that I keep away from knee-jerk reactions (unless absolutely necessary) and prefer to sleep on those things that are truly important. One of the nicest compliments I've recieved is that I am gentle with an undercurrent of passion that can take your breath away. I like that. Throughout my life I have been a sailor, a cop, a writer and a teacher and in one way or another, the roles have always complimented each other. And they still do. I have been action-oriented so long that I'm finally learning how to slow down (a bit:), and minimize the worries and take life as it comes. I must admit that while its been fun watching the grass grow for awhile, I prefer motion over stagnation. I'm a student of psycology and am in the process of turning my training and experience into a master's degree. Then I will go back to the officers and agents left behind and reach out to those who's needs are in the shadows. I'm a romantic who doesn't
