in his own words...

I like having meaningful relationships, but they often come at a price of having only very few of them. I'm fine with that. Quality always trumps quantity in my book. I don't like being average, but with age, I feel less and less exceptional. Accordingly, I would appreciate someone who understood or experienced the meaning of this. It's not that I'm getting old or that I am old already, but with growth, learning, and experience, I become more aware of how similar we all really are. This is both a comfort and a disillusionment, but one I would much rather consider a blessing than a curse. I guess I'm a bit of an idealist at heart, having spent a vast majority of my life snubbing everything that seemed to fit patterns of mediocrity and banality - which are not exactly characteristics we, or I, would associate with any form of idealism. But, I suppose I'm a different kind of idealist now, one that sees my earlier repugnance of all things mediocre as twisted, corrupted, even masochistic fantasizing. The truth is: most forms of idealism strive toward a kind of mediocrity. Idealists have in the past simply called it "balance." I like this word better, but I'm slightly more positively predisposed to the former now that I'm more aware of its fuller dimension. I sound old in this silly blurb, waxing philosophically. Though it is suppose to capture the full spectrum of my being, and a small part of that happens to be trying to understand myself and the world around me through philosophy. And for all my years of easy and/or pained meditating it comes down to one basic fact for me, which is that I'm just as a crazy, sane, plain, and extraordinary as you are. It shows that if you've written and read your own mini-biography, then chances are you've already read and written mine.
