in his own words...

My fiancee passed away last year from cancer, but I'm not sure that qualifies me as a widower. One thing it does qualify me for is a deeper understanding that tomorrows are not a given, and we need to enjoy the time allotted to us. I'm looking for a partner, and all that implies. I'm looking for a best friend and only lover for the rest of my life and I know they can both be one person. It starts with honesty, and grows into intimacy, if its right. If you can't laugh (including at yourself), or if you have an excess of self-created drama in your life, we probably aren't a match. Humor is the oil of the soul, and without it, I'm lost. From slapstick to sarcasm (without a nasty edge) to raunchy, if it's clever, I like it. I'm an optimist who understands that optimism has to be tempered with reality, but my basic outlook is positive. I'm always looking for the best in people, despite occasional disappointment. I believe that a wonderful person is out there, like me, searching for her partner. Could it be you? Take the risk, and let's see. At the end of the day, all the lists in the world, all the qualifications, found or not, in a "match" boil down to absolutely nothing if there isn't that one, indefinable, unexplainable, and rare thing: chemistry. That said, one of the things I've learned is that too many words in these profiles cut down our chances of meeting each other, simply because there is too MUCH information. As a result, we can miss meeting someone because something in there doesn't "match". So, you have the basics. Let's write, then call, then meet for coffee, and see. If it's "there", the lists won't matter.
