in her own words...

My friends tell me I’m a wonderful cook, and with the exception of just one time (and he was asking for it), I’ve never served anyone raw chicken. Along with several friends, I started a recurring dinner party that we call Appetizerpalooza. Why? Because variety is the spice of dinner as well as of life. My friends also say that they're glad I keep their secrets and my promises, that I'll come through when they need a favor, and that I hate being late. Travel keeps my mental batteries charged. A weekend getaway is good. A week or two where my cell phone doesn’t work, even if I wanted it to, is even better. Closer to home I thrive on being outdoors -- in a park, at the beach, on a hiking trail somewhere, taking pictures, or relaxing on the deck. Before moving to San Francisco in 2000, I spent nearly 14 years in Austin, where "being outside" meant "spontaneously bursting into flames." Let's just say the SF climate is much more my speed. I love my career and after nearly 10 years of being my own boss I’m pretty sure I’ll never pass my days sitting in a cubicle again. But work is work and life is life. I try not to confuse the two, what about you? I’m a tree hugger without being a hippie, which means that I recycle, compost, and watch my carbon footprint. But I also shower every day. Given the choice, I'd take a small group of dear friends over a large collection of acquaintances. Flip flops over stilettos, but always with a nice pedicure. Dark chocolate over milk. Big dogs over little dogs. A setting where we can hear each other over a loud club. Someone who likes to try new cuisines over a picky eater. Jon Stewart over the real news. A guy who's witty and even a little sarcastic over one with no sense of humor. Someone with whom I have enough in common to make us compatible, but with enough differences to make things exciting. How do you fit in to all of this? I live a life of abundance and would love to share it with someone who’s been bitten
