(he also shows elements of this type)
Me: software engineer, loves music (some music), coffee, drinks, books, dogs, TV. Also loves other things. 140 characters is awfully short.
He is an independent thinker who approaches problems with an analytical, exacting, systematic and resourceful mind. Yet he also has a traditional, even sentimental streak and can be very protective of those he loves.
Because he is ambitious, tough-minded and hardworking, his close friends admire him. Yet his complex personality is often hidden behind a wall of composure and logic.
He is attracted to someone who can complement him-someone who is verbally graceful, who weighs alternatives carefully and listens actively, and has well-honed social skills.
A few excerpts from his personality test:
- I like to get to know my friends' deepest needs and feelings
- I enjoy competitive conversations
- It is important to respect authority
His 4 interests
in his own words...
I love music. Opening statements don't really get more generic than that, so I'll elaborate a little. I love going to concerts (both popular and classical); I'm taking piano lessons (started recently, so I'm not phenomenally good); and I listen to music all day at work, and frequently when I'm not at work. If I had to come up with a list of five of my favorite artists, it would probably include Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Van Dyke Parks, Andrew Bird, and Brian Wilson (despite the relative age of that list, don't be fooled: I like a lot of new music too). As a side note, if you're interested my last.fm history is here: last.fm/user/cybertaur1 I guess I'm largely defined by my interests. I feel strongly about music, like I said, but I'm also very interested in making cocktails, and specifically making good cocktails. I've got a few custom drinks and am actively trying to invent more. I'm in a bourbon-of-the-month club but I don't drink a full bottle of bourbon every month so they pile up - don't be scared when you see them. I also love coffee, and going out to restaurants and bars. I probably own too many books. Especially too many books that I haven't read yet (but mean to! I really do! Working on it). And now comes the fun part, what I'm looking for in someone. I'm looking for someone who I can learn from. I'm looking for someone who knows more than I do - a lot more than I do - about topics that interest me. I'm looking for someone with a sarcastic edge to their sense of humor, and if you like whisky that's a plus (although hardly a requirement). If you have a dog that's an even bigger plus. Someone who treasures being introduced to the first few episodes of a great TV show with the knowledge that there's an entire season (or more!) waiting. Someone whose idea of a good night ranges from staying home, ordering in, and watching an old movie with some wine to going to a restaurant before a concert that gets out at midnight, heading to a bar until 2, and sta
