OK…let’s be real here. I’ve read all these profiles of fit, soulful folks who want to run up Mount Tam with their soulmate with whom they’ve had instant chemistry. REALLY? If you are over 50, things – skin, pounds, other bodily parts are heading south. This is just a fact of life. 50 crunches a day does not gravity defy! Are you secretly grinning yet? So for all of you folks that talk about how fit you are…is that really your highest level of connection? I can climb a hill for 30 minutes without being winded – I’m pretty fit; but I don’t define myself that way. And we all know you are dressed up for the prom right now, but what will you be like after you “settle in?” My early on dream date was Lawrence Olivier, not Robert Redford. I forget who said the sexiest organ is between the ears, but I truly believe it. Notwithstanding of course Nora Ephron’s quote that she was tired of hearing that which has been revived in spades lately. I hope you have had an interesting life. I would like to spend hours chatting about the whys and hows of where you got to where you are and what you plan to do with it for the rest of your life.
