in her own words...

How would those closest to me describe me? I decided to ask around and the most consistent answer was: "funny", and recently I heard someone talking about me who said: "I don't think she knows she is funny" And when my ex-husband and I were in therapy many, many years ago the therapist asked what he liked most about me and he said: "her humor" which I did not appreciate at the time. I guess I wanted to hear something like she is a good mother, she makes good meals(he would eat anything), or she listens well, but humor I just did not get. I grew up in a small farming community in the Southwest with three brothers and two parents. I was the third child and spent most of my childhood outdoors riding horses, climbing trees, and escaping from the practical jokes of my brothers. My dad was Irish and came from a family of 12, took care of everyone, and was a successful businessman. I went away to college at 17, earned a BS Degree, and later a MS Degree. I married at age 22, and had three sons by age 28. Maturing can be a painful evolution especially when it involves the loss of a child. Knowing that I was able to overcome the grief always inspires me through tough times. Also, it is a reminder to keep life's events in perspective and not allow 'drama' to rule or be around 'drama queens or kings'. I am grateful for good health, a stable non-drama life, good friends, and a lovely ability to allow miracles, and serendipity into my life. I wish I could say I am really good at something as far as what sociey deems as good. I like sports, but have never excelled; I play piano but mostly cords; I love music but have no voice. I WILL say I am a good "nester" I love my home and have always considered a house as being alive with energy. I am looking for someone who is intrinsically kind, and honest and really minds about disappointing me. There has to be good communication between us, and physical attraction. Lastly there has to be a sense of joy.
