It must have been love

He is a tough-minded, independent thinker who likes to explore ideas or problems thoroughly. Yet he has a wild side and is not interested in maintaining routine social engagements either.

He gravitates to men and women who are intellectually exciting and like to discuss topics broadly and thoroughly.

He tends to like someone who is spontaneous, even mischievous, as well as a mate who can appreciate his rugged individualism and support of his drive to succeed.

in his own words...

It's been brought to my attention that my profile hasn't been developed enough so here's a ramble to give you a better idea of who I am: I've had a surprisingly interesting and complicated life. I'm aware that guys like to say they're complex or different or whatever they think will work to attract you. I'm not all that interested in appealing to the maximum number of females on here as much as I'm just describing some of what I'm about here. Throughout my life I've always traveled a ton, beginning at quite a young age; the first country I visited outside the US was Morocco when I was 11 and I went there alone. I was on my way to Spain and Portugal for study. My next trip was to stay with a friend in Malaysia a year later and on that trip I also went to Taiwan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and even Pakistan of all places. So travel has always been what I've been up to and it's really shaped who I am and how I see the world. I'm also pretty confident in saying that I was more self-sufficient and mature at 11 than I am now. I had a conversation with a very interesting guy in Nepal not too long ago who had a theory and argued that the more we know and see, the more carefully we consider our options and plans and the less spontaneous and carefree we feel. Having said that, he was at least partly off in his analysis, at least in my case, because although I'm more circumspect and aware of what to do and not do now, I'm not really any less spontaneous or carefree. Maybe because my life has been a bit different or maybe just due to the nature of my character, I can't really relate as well as I used to to people in LA who haven't been exposed to much, but I can be diplomatic and I can pretend. I went pretty far down a number of rabbit holes studying philosophy in undergrad and I guess I had the mentality of a philosopher even before college, but definitely not at all resembling the presumptuous blathering know it all who sits at the back of class and wont shut up. I can be sarcastic
