His 13 interests
in his own words...
I guess the best place to start is to describe the way I try to live my life. I read somewhere that most of our social skills can actually be traced back to what we were taught in kindergarten. Rule 1 - Do on to others as you would have done on to you. Rule 2 - Always share. Rule 3 - Be polite. Rule 4 - Don't talk with your mouth full (okay, sometimes I fail there) Rule 5 -Always raise your hand before you speak (preferably with all of the fingers straight up, not just the middle one) Rule 6 - Learn as much as you can. Rule 7 - Never lie. Rule 8 - Have fun. Now maybe these do sound like Dr. Phil life lessons, but they work pretty well for me. This one however, I didn't learn in kindergarten, I learned in life. Rule 9 - Never settle for last because you will regret it. Is there anyone out there that shares these very simple rules? I'd love to hear from you! I never really understood what the phrase "someone that compliments me" means. Is that someone who just tells me how wonderful I am all the time? No, that's what mothers are for. I finally get it. I learned the hard way, but I now understand what that phrase really means. What I'm looking for is someone that can pick me up when I'm feeling down and can "ground" me when I'm getting a little too full of myself. Someone that isn't afraid to challenge me. Someone that can stimulate me (I know what you're thinking, but you're wrong) both emotionally and intellectually. Someone that kicks me in the butt when I get lazy or says "slow down boy" when I get too far ahead of myself. Someone that can make me a better person just by being with them. Most of all, someone who is looking to me, to do the same for them.
