in her own words...

I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not so sure when it comes to the things people write in their profiles. "I"m always happy and upbeat, nothing gets me down, I live each day to the fullest, I have no regrets" C'mon, really? People that are always happy- 24/7 - without the use of medication actually kind of scare me. Seriously, if you're happy and joyful every single day of the week and nothing ever gets to you - nothing makes you sad, irritated, mad or disappointed, then you're either the town idiot or you haven't experienced life in the first person. I'm passionate about many things, and as a result, I have experienced some of the most wonderfully intense fun and satisfaction a person can experience but i've also experienced pain, disappointment and sadness. I wouldn't have it any other way, actually. I don't think it's possible to truly embrace life and know excitement without also experiencing some disappointment along the way. I find it hard to imagine that someone can know the peace that comes from forgiveness without having felt some degree of anger or the pain of rejection or loss. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I don't think so. So while I appreciate what some people are trying to convey in their "Happy Happy" profiles, I find it challenging, at best, to believe the genuiness of their claims. I like to associate with those that have experienced life as it exists - the good and the bad, the happy and sad times. I am encouraged by those that have overcome adversity and persevered through difficult waters. I don't expect life to always be perfect or comfortable; I'm grateful to those in my life that have been there for me when those less than perfect moments have occurred. I think having friends and significant others to support one another through life's challenges is truly a blessing that everyone should strive to return ten times over during their life. Whew. Okay, got that off my chest. Now a little about me. I
